Richard Durand Releases Stunning Album 'The Air We Breathe'

Richard Durand dropped his first album in six years and it’s well worth the wait!

This month, Richard Durand gifted the trance world something fans had not experienced in years, six to be exact, as he has finally released a new album titled, The Air We Breathe. During those six years, Durand went through the ups and downs of life, and after experiencing loss and a drastic shift in focus he was ready to tackle the behemoth that is creating a fresh new studio album.

After such a long hiatus following numerous successful albums, Durand would have to pull out all of the stops in order to top his previous successes. With that in mind, he spent the past 14 months with his nose on the grindstone and masterfully crafted this 19-track release. He did not achieve this on his own as the album features numerous amazing collaborations. These include the likes of Mark Sherry, Marco V, Sied van Riel, and Geert Huinink. Additionally, he teamed up with Mike Schmid and Christina Novelli for some amazing vocal tracks as well.

Durand’s The Air We Breathe is a beautiful mix of the uplifting and tech trance sounds he is known for. There are hard-hitting tech trance tracks such as “Savage”, gorgeous uplifting tracks such as “The Air I Breathe” (which is a serious contender for trance “Tune of the Year), and even combination “techlifting” tracks such as “Universal Minds”. Durand did an amazing job expertly weaving these styles throughout the album in a way that sounded natural and not forced. We would expect nothing less from this trance master.
